Shipping Policies & Procedures
Chocolate is sensitive to heat, so we take great care when shipping our products. Refer to the following ordering guidelines and temperature shipping restrictions to help you place your order. Should you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach us on our main line at (206) 632-5100.
Please Note: Due to increased order volumes, your order may take an extra 1-2 days for our team to prepare your order for shipment in addition to our standard processing timelines below.

General Ordering Guidelines
MOTHER'S DAY SHIPPING DEADLINES
Please refer to the order deadlines by shipping method below to ensure your order will arrive in time for Mother's Day on May 10th. Orders placed after these deadlines may not arrive in time. Contact us if you have any questions.

We do not currently have same-day shipping available; please allow up to one business day for your order to be processed before shipment. If for any reason, we’re unable to ship your order as expected, we’ll get in touch with you.
Typical Processing Times:
Weekday Orders (through 2pm PT Friday):
- Before 2pm PT: processed same day & ship next business day
- After 2pm PT: processed next business day & ship following business day
Weekend Orders (2pm PT Friday through Sunday):
- All orders will be processed next business day and ship following business day
Theo business days are Monday-Friday, unless we are closed for a holiday (see Theo Observed Holidays below). We do not process or ship orders over the weekend.
Large or Custom Order Lead Times
If your order includes a large quantity of items, such as our Gift Boxes, Handmade Confections or Custom Confection Boxes, additional time may be needed to prepare your order. Custom Confection Boxes require an additional day to process & prepare your order, and large quantities requiring a lead time will be noted on the product page. You can always contact us to inquire if your order will be ready in time!

International, APO & PO Boxes
We do not currently offer shipping to US territories, PO or APO boxes, or ship internationally. Please enter a valid U.S. street address when placing your order.
We do not accept returns or exchanges, but do want to make sure your experience with us is a positive one. For any online order issues, please contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org with details about your concerns.
We offer the following shipping methods for customers located in the United States during the checkout process. Keep in mind when selecting your shipping method that an additional business day is required for order processing, and we do not ship orders out on the weekends or offer weekend delivery.
- Standard Shipping
- 2-Day Shipping
Orders will be shipped out Monday-Friday as weather allows. If warmer weather is expected heading into the weekend, we will hold orders scheduled to ship on a Friday in order to ensure it is not stuck in high temperatures over the weekend while in transit. Please keep this in mind when placing an order during the warmer months.
Chocolate starts to melt at 70 degrees F, so we take great care when preparing and shipping your order to ensure it arrives to you in perfect condition.
During the warmer months of the year, we will take extra precautions to guarantee the integrity of your order:
- Thursday & Friday shipments may be held until the following Monday to ensure your chocolate is not left sitting in a warm shipping facility over the weekend
- Cool packs may be added to your order to ensure temperature control throughout its journey to you
If you are shipping to a destination with high temperatures (70 degrees or higher), you may also notice that standard shipping rates are sometimes unavailable. In this case, you’ll see either 1 or 2 day service as your available shipping method.
Temperature Shipping Restrictions
If no one is available to receive your order upon arrival at its final destination, our carriers will leave it at the door. If this could pose a problem, we recommend shipping to an address where someone can sign for and receive your package. Theo is not responsible for damage or theft incurred after delivery.
