Chocolate Swirl Pumpkin Bread

A delightful fusion of spices and rich dark chocolate.
This Chocolate Swirl Pumpkin bread is not just a treat for the taste buds - its fun, festive swirls make it a visual treat for parties or just a cozy night in. The soft texture with rich dark chocolate and seasonal spices will make it an instant favorite.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 bar (2oz) Theo Bittersweet Baking Bar
- 15oz pumpkin puree
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 11/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp cloves
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp ginger
Instructions (makes 1 loaf):
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Oil and lightly flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan and set aside.
- Combine pumpkin puree, egg, vegetable oil, water, and sugar and stir until well blended.
- In a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt, and all spices.
- Add dry ingredient mixture to the pumpkin mixture stirring in half of dry ingredients at a time.
- In a microwave safe bowl, melt the Bittersweet Baking Chocolate using 15 second intervals. Do not burn the chocolate.
- Add 1/3 of the pumpkin bread batter into the bowl with chocolate and mix until well combined.
- Fill the loaf pan starting with the regular pumpkin batter and alternating with the chocolate back and forth, layering in concentric ovals in the pan.
- Use a small knife to swirl the top of the batter, reaching down about half of the depth of the pan.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick or knife come out clean.
- Allow loaf to cool before removing from pan. Slice and enjoy!
